During the American Revolution, the titles to massive amounts of land owned by British sympathizers (Loyalists or “Tories”) in Connecticut were confiscated (seized) by the state government. This land was then liquidated and auctioned off to raise revenue for the war effort and to punish those who supported the British Crown.
Join us and learn about this interesting part of Connecticut history, presented by Kristen and William Keegan. Dr. Keegan is a renowned local historian and geographer. She and Bill are both historical GIS Specialists. As a team, she owns and they operate the local consulting firm Bywater Historical Services.
